Introduction:
Ami is the first of the "inner senshi" to join Sailor Moon in her battle against evil. The school genius, Ami consistantly scores at the top of her class in Juuban Junior High School and Juuban High School. This is fitting, seeing as she is the "chisei no senshi", or warrior of wisdom. She loves to read and attends cram school every day. She does not do well in social situations because she is very quiet and would rather be left alone with her books. Nevertheless, she is extremely close with the rest of the senshi. Ami lives with her mother, who is a doctor, and she wishes in the future to become a doctor as well.

As Sailor Mercury, her attacks are based on water. She is an extremely handy sailor senshi to have around because she is able to remain calm and analytical even in the worst situations. She is often the one to find the youma's (monster's) weakness, and thus the senshi are able to defeat it.

Transformation Phrases: Each transformation is slightly more powerful than the previous

Mercury Power, Make Up!: Sailor Mercury's first transformation phrase used during the first season.
Mercury Star Power, Make Up!: Sailor Mercury's second transformation phrase used during the second season, Sailor Moon R. First appears in episode 62.
Mercury Crystal Power, Make Up!: Ami transforms into Super Sailor Mercury, her most powerful form, with this phrase. It first appears in episode 151 during the Super S season, and is used until the end of the series.

Attacks: Listed in the order they appear, usually weakest to most powerful.

Shabon Spray: Sailor Mercury's weakest attack used mostly during the first season. Mercury shoots bubbles at the enemy, thus confusing them and giving the senshi time to regroup or coordinate an attack.
Shabon Spray Freezing: Very similar to her "Shabon Spray" attack only the bubbles freeze the enemy. First appeared in episode 53.
Double Shabon Spray Freezing: The same as the previous attack, but has a greater range and is more powerful.
Shine Aqua Illusion: Sailor Mercury's primary attack in the R season used after receiving her "Mercury Star Power" transformation phrase; first appeared in episode 62. Mercury spins above a pool of water, drawing the water up around her and then shooting it as a massive column of water with her outstretched hands at the enemy.
Mercury Aqua Rhapsody: Sailor Mercury's final and most powerful attack, first appearing in episode 154 during the Super S season; used after receiving "Mercury Crystal Power" transformation phrase. A harp appears, which Mercury plays, and then shoots streams of water at the enemy.
Mercury Aqua Mirage: Used only in the Super S special "Ami-chan no Hatsu-koi" (Ami-chan's First Love); Mercury encases the enemy in a sphere of water, consequently freezeing then destroying them.
