Introduction:
When we are first introduced to Usagi she is a fourteen year old clumsy crybaby who does poorly in school and prefers eating and video games to doing anything productive. In episode one she saves a black cat with a crescent moon on its forehead from a group of children. The cat is Luna, and she immediately recognizes Usagi as the sailor senshi of the moon. Thus Usagi becomes Sailor Moon, our heroine of the story.
Usagi lives at home with her father Kenji, a Magazine Editor, her mother Ikuko, a dedicated housewife, and her brother Shingo, who is in fifth grade and loves to torment Usagi to no end. She is know for her unpunctuality, as well as for her unique hairstyles which earns her the name "Odango-atama", or dumpling head, since the two balls of hair resemble Japanese dumplings.
At the beginning of her career as Sailor Moon, Usagi lacks courage and would rather run away than fight, but as the story progresses she becomes an incredibly loyal and courageous fighter.
Usagi's other identities include Princess Serenity, the daughter of Queen Serenity during the reign of the Moon Kingdom eons ago, and Neo-Queen Serenity, the ruler of the Earth in the 30th century. In the future as Neo-Queen Serenity she is married to King Endymion (present day Mamoru Chiba/Tuxedo Kamen) and she has one daughter, Princess Small Lady Serenity, or Usagi, otherwise known as Chibi-Usa.
Usagi's true love is Mamoru Chiba, or Tuxedo Kamen, who during the reign of the Moon Kingdom was Prince Endymion of Earth. While at the beginning of the series they can't stand one another, they soon fall deeply in love.

Moon Prism Power, Make Up!: Sailor Moon's first transformation phrase which she uses for the first 50 episodes to transform into the weakest form of Sailor Moon.
Moon Crystal Power, Make Up!: Sailor Moon's second transformation phrase used during the "R" season.
Moon Cosmic Power, Make Up!: Sailor Moon's third transformation phrase used during the "S" season.
Crisis Make Up!: Usagi uses this transformation phrase to transform into Super Sailor Moon, a more powerful version of Sailor Moon (with a new uniform, too!); During the S season she needs the Holy Grail to use this transformation, but by the Super S season she doesn't.
Moon Eternal, Make Up!: Sailor Moon's final, and most powerful transformation. Usagi uses this to transform into Eternal Sailor Moon, and uses it during the Stars season.
